BECOME A MEMBER

Becoming a member of West Asheville Baptist is the first step towards becoming an active and vibrant part of our fellowship. We believe membership is important because Christ loves the church and wants us to become a integral part of it.  The New Testament emphasizes the need for Christians to be accountable to each other for spiritual growth.

Membership begins by accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you have never done this, (FInd out how here). We do not want membership to be an intimidating process – so we’ve offered some guidelines below.

1. SHARE YOUR DESIRE TO JOIN

You may let us know of your desire to join in a couple different ways. The best way is to meet one of our Pastors. They are available on Sunday mornings or during the week by appointment. Just call the church office to schedule a time to meet with them.

You can respond during the time of invitation at the end of one of our worship services and talk with them as well. Our Pastors can answer any questions and explain what needs to happen next.

2. ATTEND A DISCOVERY CLASS

Attending our Discovery Class prior to joining is great way to learn more about WABC. This informal class is taught by Pastor Stan on Sunday mornings. You will learn more about WABC’s beliefs, vision and ministries. Call the church office (828) 253-9824 or check the Weekly Bulletin, to find out more information about class dates.

3. BELIEVER’S BAPTISM
At WABC, we baptize by immersion. That’s the example we see throughout Scripture, and how Jesus was baptized. Baptism is not required for salvation, but it is the first step of faith and obedience for those who follow Him.
