Have you ever wondered what it truly means to become a Christian? To be a follower of Jesus?   You think you’re a good person.   You’ve always tried to be the best you can and do what is right. The good outweighs the bad in your life  – right?.  Life is good! However, you still find yourself searching for answers that make a difference.

Maybe there are things in your life that don’t seem to be going very well, and you’ve tried lots of solutions, but nothing seems to work. The questions can be complicated but the answer isn’t.  The answer is JESUS! And God’s Word – the Bible, has answers for us that are grounded in truth and love.

People tend to divide themselves into groups – good people and bad people. But God says that every person that has ever lived is a sinner and sin separates us from God.  “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. Romans 3:23

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the one and only Son of God, who left a perfect Heaven to come to an imperfect earth. He was with God when he created the universe and everything in it.

He lived on Earth as a man without ever sinning. Many historical facts tell us that Jesus did indeed live on earth and many people believe that he was a moral and spiritual teacher, but they deny that he is God.  In John 10:30, Jesus declared he was God.  Jesus was God in the form of a man.  You see God sent Jesus to do something for us that we cannot do for ourselves.  He came to earth to rescue us from sin and give us  way to be reunited with God.

We are separated from God because of sin, but God sent Jesus to live on earth a sinless life and take our sin punishment.  He sent Jesus to die on a cross for our sins. Three days later, He rose from the dead and conquered not only death, but sin. He alone can forgive our sins and give salvation and eternal life with God.   Jesus loves you and desires to have a personal relationship with you. We cannot be good enough to earn our way to Heaven, nor can we be bad enough to never be allowed in Heaven.   It is only through Jesus and His free gift,  “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” – that we can have eternal life with God.

The most important decision in your life will be whether or not you accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior. You must choose Jesus FREE gift of forgiveness and a relationship with Jesus. This begins with an act of faith by praying and asking for forgiveness of your sins and turning away from your old life for a new life in Christ. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
